Creative History
Art My works, classified as Contemporary/Post-Modern, are figurative paintings featuring areas of bright color, in combination with photography, and the use of line and overlapping planes, which make them resemble collages. As of late, I have incorporated the use of needle and thread unto the canvas. Allusions to politics, art, literature and identity are recurring subjects in my work. Lastly, my works are inspired by artists such as R.B. Kitaj, Frida Kahlo, and China Marks. The subjects of my works address and undress the issues of and in politics, love, loss, identity, and other social concerns. My most exciting piece has been my Poetic-Memoir, "Poetry Written in (E)motion" and first poetic collection "Disease or Dis-ease." Current Projects: -Ivory Button, is a story about a son who learns about his deceased mother's past through the man she had an affair with. -On Life's Terms, a full-length play: Leslie and Frank visit their daughter, thinking they are going to her college graduation. Instead, Linda introduces her parents to their five-year old grandson. -Stray, a screenplay about the lives of the people living in 26 Vine Place: what happens when we fall in love with loneliness?
